You haven't proven anything yet.

Still have good friends in TW...visit frequently...both of our kids born in H-town (hate to tell you though, my 15 year old daughter is an Orangeblood thru and thru)

Excited to have the aggies in the SEC. My only reservation is that it takes away a bit of a recruiting edge that LSU had over A&M.

We have been able to pluck a few gems out of the H-town market by the lure of playing in the SEC.

Other than Bama, LSU, and maybe Florida, our talent on defense is enough to compete in the SEC and it is only going to get better. We will have to get some true studs on the DL though. As for offense, A&M would only come in second to maybe Arkansas (and thats debatable). We have zero issues with offensive talent

The thing is, I know you were serious when you wrote this.

That's what makes it bad.

Lets see. We've recruited the states best signal callers three years straight. Have two 4*RBs waiting in the wings behind Gray and Micheal and the nations #2 rated RB coming in next year. Numerous studs at WR and we basically return our entire 2 deep on OL that is littered with NFL talent.

Defense needs some work, but I will make no concessions for our offense. They will compete in the SEC.

Don't base your judgement of talent from stars. Judge it based on actually watching the teams and see how the players play. I've seen numerous A&M games at Kyle Field plus the SW Classics. I've also been to ALOT of SEC games the past four years. You've gotten a glimpse of it the past two Classics and last year's Cotton Bowl. There is a gap in talent. There is a gap in how fast the teams play. October 1st will come soon enough.

Don't base your judgment on past teams. Because those aren't this years team. I don't agree with the other Ag poster completely on our offensive talent, but you don't give it enough and credit and I don't expect you to. We can run the ball on anyone in the country. We have an efficient pro style passing attack that plays extremely well off said running attack. IMO, Arkansas has a better offense, but we aren't as far behind as you make it seem this year.

Next year we will have some big holes to fill and may very well struggle. There is clearly a talent gap between the SEC and the rest of the country, but I think in general the talent gap is much larger on defense. This is also definitely true with A&M.

I watched the game yesterday as well, and I focus almost exclusively on the line of scrimmage. Over the past couple years, your offensive line has gotten better. Your defensive line has not. They look bigger than two years ago, but they still don't get enough push. Losing Miller and maybe even more so Hodge (or Dodge? #50) hurts. When he went out in the Cotton Bowl things went downhill.

There is still a gap. Whether you Ags want to admit it or not. There is a gap that exists in the depth and quality of Arkansas' O line and depth of our D line. We adapt by having a coach that has one of the best offensive minds in the world, along with possibly bleeding green and eating his own young.

You're thinking of Hodges (#37). I'm not saying we don't have weaknesses. It's obviously very early, but I think our LB unit is our biggest current weakness. We also lack depth on the D-Line. The previous post wasn't about our defense though, it was about our offense. The current offense is a very good one, and it will only continue to improve with the offensive line maturing.

If you're saying there is a big talent gap between the good SEC defenses and our current defense,I will agree with you there. Especially in regards to depth. I disagree on offense, but all this will be sorted out October 1st. I definitely want to get a look at Arkansas on TV before y'all play Bama.
