Status of new conferences (as of 6/14)

Big 10- Nebraska addition was great. IMO now the second best conference, especially with a championship game.
Big 12- Colorado isn't terrible loss, but Nebraska is. Beebe stopped the bleeding and kept his job for now, but will they last? Will they survive at 10, or will they try and move back to 12? Should be interesting...
This conference now looks like Texas and 9 other schools. I used to consider probably the second best conference in the country but now it just looks like the Texas conference.
Pac 10- So your big move is to add Colorado? Larry Scott's master plan just blew up in his face and they look all the less attractive. Not to mention your main team just got cock slapped by the NCAA last week...
I just don't see how Scott can fix this mess, if they got a championship game that would help their image but as of now they are pretty much on par with the Big East. Think about it: who from the PAC 10 could contend for the title in the next couple of years? Keep in mind USC can't go to a bowl for 2 years.
SEC- We have gone from being the best conference to running shite in the NCAA. I applaud Mike Slive for making pertinent and moves that were all that was required to prevent us from falling behind in the expansion race. Not only that but we just made the University of Texas look like a bunch of whiny bitches in the process. (Thanks for your help with that one Ags)

Not a good week for the PAthetiC 10.

I think with USC getting hammered Larry Scott was hoping to get Texas- a legitimate NC contender every year. Now he is stuck with a bunch of mediocre teams and a team on probation.
Will anyone watch a Pac 10 game this year except people in that region? Didn't think so

CU and Utah were the original targets in Pac-10 expansion. Nobody thought UT or the rest of the Big-12 schools were ever even an option until a week ago of so. Scott had the balls to go and be aggressive, which former Pac-10 heads didn't have, and in the end, the Pac-10 is going to end up with what they originally wanted. It was a very good week for the Pac-10, but it wasn't amazing like it could have been

So, what are the chances the Big-12 goes after Arizona and Arizona St.? D'oh!

Haha touche.
Utah's a good team but Salt Lake City isn't the most attractive market. And besides, they are in a better conference than the Pac 10.
Colorado isn't good at all, and I'm not really convinced that Denver gives a shite about CU football. Denver is all about the Broncos

They look like a jilted bride left at the alter right now. That's not very good. In addition to USC getting hammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmered.

Considering what happened with USC and everything else left 'at par', I would hardly call it a good week for the Pac 10.

no.
1. PAC 10 has multiples more people than the MW.
In TV market terms, the MW is nothing. ZERO.
California has 35 million legal residents.
2. PAC 10 has lots of national championships in lots of sports.
Stanford won the overall championship of all sports 17 of 18 years, since NCAA started having it, and Stanford were 2nd the other year.
3. CAL, Stanford, AZ, UCLA (12) have won basketball.
4. CAL, Stanford Oregon State and USC have each won multiple baseball.
BYU won one "mythical" football championship, beating 6-6 Mich in the holiday bowl. That's your MW. NOTHING.

My Mountain West is something. Utah, BYU, TCU... Those three would beat anyone in the Big 12 save Texas... having the next three best teams had they played in the Big 12 says alot. Also, any of those 3 would be the next three in the Pac 11 after USC... oh wait, maybe ahead of USC now... Add Boise who beat up Oregon last year... Im starting to see a real conference here.

Let me clarify ottothewise- better in football.
Right now the Pac 10 doesn't have any contenders for the NC. The MWC has Boise now, Utah, TCU. And BYU is no slouch either.
