So what is the next move? Is there an SEC meeting planned?

Seems like A&M has done everything they can and are now waiting on the SEC.

If TAMU did not have an IN already in the SEC and they did this then they are screwed.

Haven't seen much from the SEC on this. Everything seems to be coming from A&M. Are they inviteing themselves to the SEC party?

The vote will happen Tuesday or the day after. Should be official by mid next week.

Is this just common knowledge or is there a certain source for this?
I have no doubt they will be admitted. Just curious as to why it will be next week and not this week, or not later than next week for that matter.

This is according to a few sources.
The reason it seems it got pushed back was due to the university presidents being busy from the start of fall semester.
A&M wasn't going to announce their withdrawal till next week so as not to cause a distraction before our first game, but did so anyways so that the exit fees and loose ends would be figured out before the SEC votes.

If by some long shot, the SEC does not accept aTm, will they be allowed to stay in the Big 12-2-1+1?
I know it is pretty much a done deal, but a week is a long time for someone to change their minds if the vote is close. Also, do you think that aTm already has something in writing to avoid this?
With this being such a big decision for aTm, I cannot believe that they would not be protected in some way so that something does not change in the next week, or have the fall back plan of staying in the Big 12.

For legal reasons to protect the SEC, I doubt it, but do not know. I'm sure this is by faith alone (with some back room assurances).

this will be a done deal by the end of next week.
anyone who think atm has come all this way with no guarantee of getting an invite is kidding themselves.
once atm is on board then i think we'll start to see some smoke as far as number 14 goes.

Something Im curious about as well. The conference can still exist as long as it has 7 member I believe? Im curious if those schools bolt, would there even be any exit fees. This is something that is unknown at this moment.

I understand this. I am just trying to understand how the process works. I can't imagine them not having some sort of protection or fall back plan.

With how TX runs the Big XII, the conference will probably have to TX the exit fees paid by TAMU, NU, and CU and anyone else who leaves.
