So let me get this straight--TEXAS is the bad guy?

Texas tried once to leave the Big 12. Their departure was to include five other Big 12 schools, including Texas A&M.
Texas A&M has tried in vain to leave the Big 12 TWICE. Their departure is to involve no one else.
Nebraska left the Big 12. They didn't take anyone with them, nor did they attempt to do so.
Colorado left the Big 12. They didn't take anyone with them, nor did they attempt to do so.
Missouri has half-arse tried to leave the Big 12. Their attempted departure has involved no one else.
But TEXAS is the cause of the Big 12's instability. The school who, if they did leave, was to take more than half the remaining conference with them, is the bad guy.
Just because they're rich doesn't mean they're evil, you liberal commie bastards.
I hate Texas because they're exactly like Ole Miss but good. But they aren't the assholes in this situation. A&M is operating on pure Sip Envy, and it's biting them in the collective arse. It's great.

Sorry but you are wrong on all accounts. Yes Texas would take all the schools with them, but thats because they are "big bro" in this situation. The Big XII doesn't have even revenue sharing and UT gets the largest chunk. If any of the schools try to do anything to change this Texas smites them. Texas then decides it doesn't have enough money so it partners with ESPN and creates the Longhorn network. The Aggies get fed up and try to bolt while the other schools are still afraid to leave Texas because they know they are going to at least get part of the pie and still have an easy as cake schedule.
When Texas hears about A&M trying to bolt for the SEC, they gather up their lawyers and then contact a PR firm to try to smear A&M. This PR firm creates rumors about FSU joining the SEC in order to keep Florida, USCe and Kentucky from voting A&M in. Essentially locking them into the Big XII. Texas then puts it in place that if the SEC is to give a bid to A&M they will sue under some type of tort. Texas is the only thing holding the Big XII together and they are doing it because they are the Big fish in a pond of guppies and can continue to dominate a depleted conference. They want power, and they will drag the rest of the conference around with them because they know they won't survive without texas.
If this was too long and you did not want to read, go frick yourself. And here is the spark notes.
Yes Texas is the bad guy

It's not like Texas was out to dick over A&M, or anybody for that matter. UT, like everyone in the world, acts in its own self interest. A&M seems hellbent on showing the Longhorns how far they can piss. It's become extremely gay.

I think this was more of A&M actually having the balls to stand up to Texas and tell them to go fu@# themselves. Don't think for a second that Texas doesn't know the ramifications of A&M getting into the SEC. If UT somehow ends up in the PAC they will be playing all their games 20 hours away on the west coast while A&M will be a part of the most prestigious conference in football. Texas fans say they will be happy when Aggies gone, but Aggy doesn't mean anything anyway

I don't think what happened today surprised anyone at aTm

If UT somehow ends up in the PAC they will be playing all their games 20 hours away on the west coast

Texas will be making regular appearances in BCS bowls while A&M will be playing SMU in the Liberty Bowl. A&M isn't going to end up better than UT in any long-term period.

and for fans like me who go to every road game, that would be a major burden to make that many flights a year. and miss that much work.

Yes A&M agreed to stay in the conference. Then after they signed the dotted line, Texas ran off and got themselves a new contract with the LHN that they weren't going to share with anyone. A&M got pissed, rightfully so and ergo the situation.
A&M and UT are like a fricked up marriage. You make a commitment and both parties are receiving some benefit. Then, 2 months after the wedding, the husband (Texas) runs off and starts screwing the hottest girl on the block (ESPN). The wife (A&M) gets mad and wants to leave, and then the husband says "If you fricking leave, i am going to sue the shite out of you and tell your next husband that you have AIDS".

And the Bear Network and the Red Raider Network and the Sooner Network and the Poke Network and the Jayhawk Network and the Wildcat Network and the Mizzou Network and the 'Clone Network? What's keeping those schools from doing like Texas and capitalizing on all their success?

"Oh no--they thought of something before we did, and it might benefit them! That makes them bad!!!! ZOMG!!!!!"
Don't like their network? Then beat 'em at football and stfu and stop being gaywads about it.

and if aTm came to the SEC they could make LSU, Ark, Miss, Miss St, Al & Aub. rather easily. Compared to a 24 hr drive to LA or 18 hrs to Arizona

You're right, Texas is great. Invite them to your conference and keep them far away from ours.

Slightly off-subject, but it's commonly believed that Nebraska left because of Texas, right? Then answer me this: Was there ever a time when Nebraska would have said "no" to a Big Ten invite? And was there ever a Big Ten invite before?
