SEC needs to add UNC & VT

UNC would bring in the triangle market and VT would get the DC market
Both already have good football programs and would benefit with recruiting by joining the SEC
UNC would obviously be an advantage for SEC basketball
Also, these 2 schools would add 2 more southern states to the SEC
Win-win situation - the folks in the front office need to get moving
BTW, stop all discussion about any Texas schools joining the SEC - this would not be good for LSU

UNC is the anchor of the ACC; they will never leave Duke or the rest of tobacco road. Although I would love to have both of them in the SEC. It would help our basketball image.

to sum this thread up
The Carolinas were a colony in the 1600s which was divided in the early 18th century...the northern half of it was called North Carolina and the southern was called South Carolina
Much as Virginia was once split into Virginia and West Virginia...W Virginia isn't in the west now is it?
And parts of the Dakota Territory were turned into a northern and southern half of Dakota (among other states)
Lesson 2:
Boston and Chicago are not states. They are cities. Boston is a city in the STATE of Massachusetts and is actually the state capital.
Chicago is in the STATE of Illinois. While it is the largest city in Illinois, believe it or not, Springfield is the capital of Illinois, not Chicago.
THANKS FOR PLAYING!

We need to do a pro/con list here.
Pro: they fought on the side of the confederacy
Con: a NC picket shot Stonewall Jackson.
Of course, depending upon your historical viewpoint, the pro/con up there can be flipped around. :p

I like to call everything from MD to NC the Middle East. We have the Midwest don't we?
I agree that UNC and VT would be good additions to the conference. Along with that, we would at least have to take Duke, but they will leave NC State behind in a heartbeat. UVA would not get an invite as they don't bring anything to the table.
