miami doesn't fill their stadiums but they do add significant national interest - so disagree on that one
And I disagree with this. I think that the SEC already has a ton of national interest. Why else would ESPN look to basically become the SEC network in the fall?

any addition that doesn't end up with a comparative increase in our tv deals hurts the SEC
Ok, what schools out there do you believe does this for the SEC? I've been following a lot of your posts because you're objecting to most of what is being said and I agree with some of what your're saying, but I still don't know who you think would help the SEC. Personally, I think A&M does help because, while not the greatest programs, they do bring a lot of the Texas market and do have a somewhat national presence based mostly on their history.

I don't understand your thinking
If we had miami then there are a slew of very interesting games that will generate big numbers on a national broadcast
Like say:
Miami/Florida
Miami/FSU
Miami/Tennessee
Miami/UGA
and maybe Miami vs Alabama or LSU
If you replace Miami with Ga Tech or Va Tech those games all generate substantially less interest.
Miami has been the most successful college football program in the NCAA over the last 30 years - that generates a lot of national interest

molsusports, you're absolutely right. Hypothetically, if we added Florida State and Miami, we're not gaining any new tv markets (though we'd be strengthening our hold on any Florida market by taking them away from the ACC), but we'd be adding two teams with national followings.
UF/FSU, FSU/UM, UM/UF. Those are three games right there that everyone in America watches. That = $$$
Anyone who thinks Miami brings nothing to the table doesn't know what he's talking about.
