The insufferable longhorn douchbaggary butthurt is off-the-charts hilarity!!!
Excuse me while I laugh at....er....correct this one.
And so we are. Are you saying that the Longhorns are looking out for themselves by avoiding a marquee game that has been played for nearly 120 years?
Whatever, buddy.
See, this is why you look like chicken shits. It's not good to play that game because you are going to lose? No other explanation makes sense.
You are missing the point. When Dodds promised that the LHN would not show conference games, everyone relied on that promise. Then, ESPN strikes a deal on behalf of its wholly-owned-and-controlled subsidiary, UT, and negotiates a conference game away from Fox Sports. That pisses everyone off because it diverts $$$ away from the conference and into YOUR COCKGRABBING HANDS. Understand? You devalue the conference TV $$$ in favor of yourselves. How can you expect any other reaction than the one A&M (and OU) gave?
Then, through a FOIA request, we get the actual contract where ESPN purchases the University of Texas for a reach-around and c-shot in the arse, and we find out that in the MOTHERFRICKING CONTRACT, you dip-shits PROMISED ESPN that you would use your best efforts to get as many CONFERENCE games as you could....FURTHER FILLING YOUR BLEACHED A-HOLES FULL OF AIDS-INFECTED SPEW and taking money away from the conference.
FURTHERMORE, you arse-frickers were planning on CHEATING with the LHN by showing recruits' games ...DELIBERATELY FEATURING said recruits. Huge, unfair recruiting advantage and you cockgobblers know it. The NCAA agreed with us, fortunately. You think OU wanted to bail for shits and giggles?
This doesn't even come CLOSE to covering the ALREADY-ON-DISPLAY lack of journalistic integrity by the "World-Wide Leader In Sport" when they began to spin, ridicule, and belittle A&M for trying to move to the SEC...WHY....because THE WORLD-WIDE LEADER needed to keep the Bevo 10 together so it could protect its investment....its recently-acquired, wholly-owned and-controlled subsidiary...t.u.
We could give a flying frick about you dicks. In the end, it's all about conference stability. How long would OU put up with this shite? Not long apparently. Missouri? They started the first round of grumbling. Everybody else just puts up with it because they are stuck. How long until another conference comes calling for them?
You are poison and we needed to make a move while we had the opportunity. We got lucky and got a seat at the best conference in America.
Butthurt?
You frickers sold your souls to the devil and tried to take us to hell with you. We have been onto your bullshite for a while, and finally got free of the political nonsense that kept us from breaking away. It didn't work out for you and now you are BUTTHURT pissed.
:rotflmao:
So frick you. We will kick your fricking asses any time of the year...Christmas... Halloween...Spring Break... We will play you homos ANYTIME..frick Thanksgiving.
Missing the fricking point again.
:rotflmao:
Completely missing the point....again...
:rotflmao:
Missing the point.
:rotflmao:
Same bullshite. Conference games on your no-revenue-sharing network? No participation in a Big 12 network clause in your contract with ESPN?
And yes, the world-wide leader is a news agency. Spin? Burnt Orange Media Conspiracy? We already got a glimpse of their antics.
Missing the point. Unequal revenue sharing is one thing. Enhanced revenue of one conference member AT THE EXPENSE OF THE OTHER 9 TEAMS is quite another. There is no way to spin out of that one.
BUT what this all comes down to is survival. ANY conference with the longhorns in it is destined to fail. We got out while the getting was good. I feel kinda bad for OU, because I really don't think they can survive without their mouths on your nutless sacks.
You won't play A&M because you are afraid. A&M moving to the SEC just junk-kicked your program and all of you know it. You can't play A&M anymore because you don't want to enhance the obvious better choice for recruits.
It's okay, longhorns. You can admit it. We all know anyway.

OU has made more TV money than any other Big12 school in the last 5 years. Have you heard Texas cry about it? No they're doing what they can to improve their standing.

Kansas sells their tier 3 rights to basketball games for like $9 million/year and that's alright with everyone, but when Texas sells their football rights for $15million/year that makes them evil and to be reviled right?

When aggy voted for unequal revenue sharing, they were looking out for the little guy right? When Nebraska wanted unequal revenue sharing, they were just looking out for themselves. Texas votes for unequal revenue sharing and THEY are the bad guy right?

When Nebraska looked into starting their own network that was growing their brand right? Kansas State is starting their own "network" online and that has been mentioned what one or two times. Why is Texas the bad guy for starting a network? Because it's ESPN?

Revenue sharing is a function of TV appearances and bowl game revenue. Each school has control over that by who they schedule, if they schedule interesting non-conference games, TV appearances go up. Too many of the schools want to skate by on lesser OOC games then expect an equal share of the pie, that doesn't make sense financially. Texas voted for unequal distribution, but so did a majority of the Big 12 schools. This is not the dealbreaker vote for Texas. Texas is being blamed because it gets more from the contract than anybody, and so serves as a convenient scapegoat, not because it is driving the unequal distribution.
Missing the point. Unequal revenue sharing is one thing. Enhanced revenue of one conference member AT THE EXPENSE OF THE OTHER 9 TEAMS is quite another. There is no way to spin out of that one.

Basketball isn't a big deal monetarily and you know it.

When those football rights extend to conference games it's a huge deal. When they involve televising high-profile HS recruits' games on a branded network, it's a big deal. Would it bother you if you scheduled an away game at LSU and we put you on our PPV online service?
All of these votes about unequal revenue sharing were made before there were any individual networks and Texas made it clear they would find a new home if they didn't receive what they wanted - thus the schools that wouldn't be able to find a BCS home alone without Texas were forced into it, while Oklahoma, the other powerhouse in the conference, saw that it was in their best interest as well.
And about your scheduling stuff, are you serious? Texas is getting a huge portion of the pie when they schedule a series of worthwhile OOC games maybe once a decade.
2011: BYU, UCLA, Rice
2010: Wyoming, Rice, UCLA, FAU
2009: ULM, Wyoming, UTEP, UCF
2008: FAU, UTEP, Rice, Arkansas (while they were at the bottom of the west)
2007: Arkansas State, TCU(before their 1st BCS bowl), UCF, Rice
2006: Ah! Here's your once-per-decade good OOC series: Ohio State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston
Don't make noise about other teams failing to schedule big out of conference games when your last few years looks like this.

Its a university, an institution of higher learning, supportered by tax dollars, including tax dollars of people that did not go to school there btw. It is not a private business, like a beer company trying to get to the top or the market.
As far as sports, sports REQUIRE cooperation. Your precious LHN is worthless with out other teams to play. Looking out for yourself does not require fricking over business partners. That's a meaninless bs phrase.
If you want to be an independent, then fricking do it. But your boy DeLoss wants to have his cake and eat it to. He wants the benefits of a conference, built in schedule, 2 chances to make a BCS bowl, other bowl guarentees etc, while operating like an Independent. Its pathetic. No other conference operates the way the Big 12 has and the only other conference spliting up is the Big East, which started as a basketball only league, that never really worked in football. If that a coincidence? But the reason UT is at the center of 2 conferences that blew up because everyone else is just jealous right?

I don't don't see ESPN touting the Jayhawk Network. ESPN is not just a broadcaster, they are also, or at least bill themselves as a Sports News network. By making a substainal investment in the LHN, is it not reasonable to ask if ESPN will be objective in their coverage of UT and other schools given that investment and the fact ESPN personel are staffing the LHN?
College gameday did their preseason preview from UT, beautiful shot on campus with the Tower in the background. Is that objective? Will they do that next year from Michigan or Ohio State?
