This is about an inferiority complex. This is about pacifying fans who don't get BCS games and national titles.
If you say it over and over and over again, maybe you will make it true.

secfan123, there is NO way TAMU attracts 10% of the Texas market. they dont attract any major markets.
ITs about numbers, not makor markets. How are you not getting this? What major markets does FSU attract? Tallahassee? ITs smaller thn College Station. But tht have 25% of the fans in Florida.

Outside of their alumni, they dont have a large fan base.
Not true at all.

Matter of fact, they make fun of T-shirt fans, which is what we are talking about.
Dude, are you really this dense? EVERY second school makes fun of the big dog university about this. auburn says it about alabama, mich state says it about michigan, Gtech says it about Georgia, etc. etc. It does not mean That the second university has no other fans.

They have a niche market in Texas and that is about it.
They attract about what most scond schools in a state attract. 10-20%.

The Big 12 is not viable long term. Losing Nebraska and Colorado was the best indication.
And even more so the fact that the Big 12 has not replaced either team over a year later. They say that they are happy with 10 teams, but if that is true why haven't they changed the Big12 name for the conference. Besides, Jerry Jones cannot be happy that the current array of teams does not even allow for a championship game in his new stadium.

The big12 is a dead man walking, if schools want to stay there and hold bevos hand while he's taking a dump then so be it, but that is only going to delay the inevitable.

This is why many A&M fans (myself included) are skeptical at the $20M promised payout. How can a conference shrink from 12 to 10 teams (losing in the process a team with a national following in Nebraska) AND eliminate its conference championship, yet somehow find MORE money to pay out?
That type of economics is what you find in Congress and we know how screwed up it is.
