Big 12 could go SMU, Houston, Rice, Louisville and get even bigger.

I think the SEC needs to explore a Louisville or Clemson or Fla St and leave that expanding within current state argument alone. These schools would be a much better fit and adding another state would not do any better than adding a Fla St or someone like that.

I can't see the Big 12 going for SMU if they indeed add TCU. Same with Houston and Rice, it will be one or the other. I think BYU and Louisville have to be their primary targets now.

Missouri abstained from the TCU vote "on the advice of legal counsel." They are 100% focused on the SEC.

I don't see the Big 12 adding another Texas school. There are 4 now. Would you really want to be in a conference where half of the schools are in the same state?

That would make over half the conference located in Texas. I don't think UT, or any other school, would go for that.

Do you really think that since the Big 12 now has equal shares of TV money they want to add 5+ more cuts?
That doesn't make sense, do you realize how much $$$ OU would be giving up?

Louisville brings nothing to the table. At least Missouri brings the St. Louis and Kansas city TV money.

Fla St is out as before A&M joined the SEC board voted to not admit anyone from the same geographic area as another school in the conf.

Rice

They certainly have academic and baseball credibility along with a large football stadium but their basketball arena, while very nice, is very small. Outside of baseball I don't see the commitment to be competitive at a national level.

Rice is no different than Vandy and there is a recruiting base there better than Vandy

Rice is no different than Vandy other than one being a charter member of the SEC
