Seriously, how does TU meet the name sake of this conference, ATLANTIC? /sarcasm

I know it's not a requirement to get in, but why would TU want to be a member of the ACC? We had this discussion for A&M, so what makes TU ACC material over material for another conference, say PAC-Insert_number_here?

pretty sure it would be for all sports except football. they don't want their other sports playing on west coast time...eastern would be easier to manage.

Not since they are now at 14 teams. Nobody is going to put of with the Longhorn's shite - nobody. They have way overplayed their hand.

What could happen?

OU and OSU to the PAC.

Mizzou and ND (?) to the B1G.

A&M and ? to the SEC. It's looking more and more like it will be WVU.

If TU has their own network now, why not go independent like ND?

Easy! Being Texas they view it like this. Texas borders the Gulf which leads into the Atlantic!

They are gonna find out what Pitino and the Ville already know..those are some brutally long flights to play roadies.

Tell their kids to bring their school notebooks, study, nap with pillow on flights.

Dominating in Foots, Hoops, Bases, as Horns have known it in recent eras..is done..be they move to ACC or PAC..better foes and more of 'em..and much further away when on the road

Horn fans have a rude awakening coming!

With the amount of money that is being made in college athletics these days, geography isn't going to be much of a factor at all in realignment like it was say...20 years ago.

This is true but it will be a much harder burden on their fan base.

I would say that their fans are in for a rude awakening, but looking at their boards they're already suggesting that only major incompetence on the part of their leaders could result in them not getting pretty much whatever they want in the conference shuffle. The stuff about going indy in fb, but joining the ACC in all other sports is just crazy talk. I can't see where any major conference would allow it. It only made sense for the BE because they many members without a fb team anyway.

In the teleconference this morning, ACC Commish Swofford said '"revenue sharing is sacred" to the conference. Maybe it doesn't, but it sure seems that this means that Texas, with the Longhorn Network, would not be considered.

I saw that too. And this wasn't the first time that he said it. He said it at the halftime of Maryland's game on Labor Day.
