Does the SEC play baseball using the divisional format? If so all the power teams (outside of LSU) are in the east (Vandy, Florida, USCe).

Don't underestimate some of the West schools. Arkansas has been very solid lately, Miss State has a very strong program historically with rabid fan support. Ole Miss, Bama and Auburn all have talent and could easily take weekend series from any team out there. Across the board, the competition in baseball will be much tougher.

My biggest question in baseball is do SEC teams play tough OOC teams like Texas Big 12 teams do? We typically play several games against Rice, TCU and some other smaller schools that consistently make the tourney (Texas State, DBU). I would think this has helped prepare us in baseball.

Good point. They nearly knocked out Florida in the Super Regionals (I think I have the right opponent). As a Rangers fan I am thankful for their first baseman pipeline (Rafael Palmeiro, Will Clark, and Mitch Moreland).

Florida usually plays Florida State (but that's due to being in-state rivals more than needing tough OOC competition). Not sure about Vandy or USCe. But like football, if your conference is so brutal how much quality OOC do you need?

This all sounds to me a bit like an "old money" vs "new money" argument. Today, the money spends the same but the real question is will you still have the buying power tomorrow?
Old money speaks to long term stability. New money suggests flash in the pan UNTIL the one with the new money proves they can keep it even while dealing with market and ecconomic changes. Lets all hope that 20 years from now aTm has shown that their new money has the staying power and was not a bubble that popped when the heat was turned up as they enterred the pressure cooker of the SEC.

Going back and reading the original page of the thread again and you are quite right. There is definitely some delusion there. The majority of A&M fans know that they will not come in right away and win the West in football (wtf to anyone who thinks that). There very well will be some growing pains, albeit not as bad as Arkansas had entering the SEC in the 90s.

The A&M basketball program should come in and be the favorites to win the West. Were there even any ranked teams in the SEC West last year? The baseball team will see much tougher competition so it will be interesting to see how they stack up..

Also, as I've stated, I don't know of many A&M fans who would dare to put the athletic program on par with Florida. That's silliness.

It was mostly your friend Paloozall giving you a bad name. At times, Bob was actingly like a douche too. As I said earlier, there are a few good apples with whom I welcome openly, but dumbasses and douches get treated like they deserve.
