Bigger question is who the west will loose if it's not an east coast college, Auburn or bama, to even up divisions...

I'll take USF instead please

I say add Mizzou to the West and move MSU to the East. Make MSU's cross divison rival Ole Miss, UK's cross division rival Mizzou, Arkansas's cross rival Vandy, and match up USC and TAMU. That way Alabama and Auburn keep their rivalries with UT and UGA. That way no big rivalries are lost.
West East
Mizzou UK
TAMU USC
Miss MSU
Ark Vandy
LSU UF
Ala UT
Aub UGA

Will -only issue is travel and the east div is called east for a reason as is west for the same.
If we pick up two mid west additions, bet we loose the both AL teams or at least one with perhaps a MS team. I'd rather keep bama each year.

I'm not happy with the addition of WV at first glance, if they are the 14th, yet lets look at it this way since it's obvious they cut into the TV Market of the pie compared to TAMU or Missouri.
Merchandise sells Top 25 as Feb, 2011.
14. Auburn
15. West Virginia
17. Arkansas
18. Missouri
19. South Carolina
20. Texas A&M

wow. i had no clue WV would be that high

That way Mizzou plays its border states of KY, AR and its big 12 brother, TAMU. AR now plays Vandy, which is in a neighboring state. MSU still plays Ole Miss plus border schools of Vandy and UT. LSU and Alabama dont really have any real rivalry with MSU, because the series are so one-sided, especially with Ala-MSU.

what TV market will the SEC tap into by adding WVU?
Plus, they don't win the Big Easy Conference like they should. They should have won the Big East 3 out of 5 years.
Their fans.....oh they suck. They are more delusional than Bama fans, but with no tradition.
When some of you go to that game, wear a hard hat. You'll get batteries thrown on you....not AAA batteries, either.

yeah i agree that would work.

yea, you may be right about Ala and Aub. Geographically, they are further east. But i think if they looked at it, it would make more sense to move MSU for competetive balance and rivalries.

Missouri if forced to choose between the two.

agree with the MS state and Auburn if Missouri for balance but would hate to see bama and auburn go.
I also like VA tech best and have to consider getting to 16 when PAC 16 finalizes.
And thanks bbap as my LSU degree must have everyone wondering incl myself

No offense to you as you speak for a lot of people on this, but why the flying frick does the SEC HAVE to go to 16 teams if another conference does?? This line of thinking drives me frickin crazy!!!
Frick the Pac 16. The SEC can stay at 14 and will be as relevant a part of any national playoff as any other conference.

3) They could offer a decent rivalry with neighboring Kentucky...the Coal Mine Classic or some crap like that. Kentucky does sit up there by itself.
I would think that should be called the Hillbilly Hoedown.
while their basketball is better and they're in the East, can't we find someone else to bring in besides West Virginia?

Travel Costs for Arkansas decrease if Missouri and Vanderbilt are added to Arkansas' schedule.
7 SEC schools (Mizzou, TAMU, LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, Vanderbilt and Alabama are all under 540 Road miles away from Arkansas.
It is much less in Air Miles for the team.
Our talent base exposure goes up and our travel costs decrease, total win!
