I think we all know that if they split, it will hurt UT recruiting. Obviously it won't destroy their program. But if you have a choice to play in Texas against SEC teams or PAC10 teams. Who ya gonna play with? TAMU knows this. UT knows this.
But, if TAMU does decide to come, don't bring these guys.

UT sucks. At least TAMU has the balls to join a Man's Conference.

I don't think it has anything to do with balls. They know they can do better in the SEC. Period. Their recruiting will become dramatically better.

UT is just scared to compete in a real conference.

Yes, this is not from a credible media outlet, but I just heard directly from a member of the board of regents that the deal is done for us to be part of the PAC 16 to be announced Tuesday. It's a conditional acceptance (still trying to figure out the conditions), but sounds like we were leaning SEC but were never planning on splitting from tu. SEC pitched tu yesterday when they offered us and them, but tu wouldn't bite (reasons I don't know).

They are not scared. They just want to be the big dog. They can't do that in the SEC. They can do that in the PAC10. They will be able to call shots over there. Let them go.
If anything, if UT came to the SEC it would be nothing but trouble. THey would bitch about everything and try to control everyone else.

I don't trust texags one bit.

UT is afraid that A&M in the SEC will change the recruiting dynamics in Texas. Hell yeah they are afraid.

Exactly.

I personally believe it could hurt LSU recruiting in Texas. Not a lot though. I think the benefit of having A&M would outweigh the one or two kids lost a year to the aggs.

Yea, I cant decide if it will help or hurt us in texas recruiting. And how much influence does A&M have on Louisiana recruits?
Posted on 6/11/10 at 4:42 pm to DollaChoppa
More than we used to, but not much yet. We basically poach a few borderline LSU guys.

Honestly, I don't think it would. It would be a boon for LSU because the families of these kids wouldn't have to spend as much in travel costs if they wanted to see their kids play. AND...they get to watch them in the toughest conference in the nation!

Also, how much does A&M and LSU benefit in recruiting from Texas moving to pac XX?

I doubt it would have much of an influence on La. recruits. But for kids in S.E. Texas who want to play close to home AND play in the SEC, it would make a big difference. A&M would probably pick up several kids who want to play in the SEC but prefer to stay in state.

that's the logical answer I think
Of course if A&M is bad then LSU will still out-recruit them

I think the biggest difference would be in Houston recruiting. TAMU would greatly benefit from the move over.

The state of TX cranks out about 400 Div 1 players every year. Texas will still get their players. You may cut into what OU pulls out of Texas and that would be great.

Did you bother reading the entire statement?
Sheesh.
