The Chiefs had more players from LSU on their all-time roster than any other school. I was shocked when I heard that.

Just because you add a market doesn't mean those people care about Mizzou.
I agree with this. I'm sure Mizzou has some hardcore fans that are salivating about this move, but it's not like the state comes to a stop on Saturdays. Hell, Illinois has both the Chicago and St. Louis markets and their AD has needed to start marketing agendas in both cities to get more support for the football program. And they have more football tradition than Mizzou.

Mizzou fans turn out in STL and KC big in numbers when Mizzou play ILLINOIS in basektball and football in STL and KU in KC.
Primarily basketball though. For football, they don't sell out the dome in St. Louis and I think the only time they sold out Arrowhead for KU was in '07.
While there are positives to adding Mizzou, I think the market expansion argument is overstated in this case.

Glassman, you are right. But unfortunately others here just can't see that the SEC became the best conference in the country without all this "markets" talk. The SEC may currently be the top conference, but that also means that there is nowhere for the SEC to go but down. And ignoring natural, heated, existing rivalries with southern East Coast teams in lieu of manufactured "rivalries" with Midwestern "market" teams (i.e. Missouri) certainly won't improve things for the SEC.

IMO Clemson is BY FAR the best cultural fit. Just spend the weekend there and that opinion was only made stronger. And they have a pretty good on-field product as well (as was shown this weekend).
Unfortunately Clemson just doesn't add much to the SEC footprint, which is why schools like Missouri, VT, the Oklahoma schools, etc are considered more likely candidates.

I wish Missouri were one of the teams added to the B1G if the B1G were to expand again.
