How is this a win for Neb?

Tex, A&M, and OK will be pulling in $20 mil. now. Wouldnt Neb have been in on those spoils, also? Big 10 teams have been told their shares would not be lessened, and Neb. was only promised to get more than the $10 mil it already received from the Big 12.

Also, dont they have to fork over a buyout?

they do have to fork out a buyout but they will make more per year from the big 10

and they will be in a stable conference that is not likely to collapse over the next 5-10 years

Both schools are far better off now evidenced by yesterday's activities. They both got out of UT's sphere of influence and will join stable conferences.

They won't have to scramble in 6 or 7 years when the NSWC falls apart.

Not for a while, it will take them years to become fully vested members of the Big 10. That + the buyout puts them in a precarious financial position.

This. CU made the right move. Much better fit in the Pac-12, new rivalry with Utah and SoCal recruiting. As soon as they get rid of Hawkins, they'll be good again.

They'll be making more per year in the Big10.
They just joined one of the most stable conferences in the nation.
As Perlman(Nebraska Chancellor) said
quote:

"The Big Ten is all members of the AAU, which is of considerable importance when you try and recruit faculty, when you seek research grants, when you do other things in the academic environment," Perlman said. "The Big Ten operates the Big Ten Network. It will allow all Nebraskans to see almost all of Nebraska's competitive games: not just football, not just men's basketball."

And I'm sure they'll be added to the CIC, which = $

No. This latest move will only delay the inevitable. The same thing will happen in a couple of years. A conference can’t thrive with teams like Baylor, T. Tech, OSU, Kansas, K. State, and Iowa State. The new conference needs to change its name to TIC (Texas Invitational Conference) because Texas will call all the shots and the others will fall in line.

When the conference finally disbands Texas, OU, and possibly T & M (depending on if they could still get in the SEC) will be fine. T. Tech and OSU, who thought they would ride Longhorns’ tail to the PAC 10, will be lucky to get a WAC Invitation. Teams like Kansas, K. State, Missouri, and Iowa State are the ones who will really struggle to find a home.

This saga is far, far from over.

And how do you know that the Big 10 isn't going to help them with the buyout?

I would have to believe that the Pac-10 well knew about CU's financial problems and offered to pay part, if not all, of it. Nebraska may not have needed the help but wouldn't turn it down if offered.

from what i can see Texas is the only team that benefits out of this deal. I just stick to what I have said. Texas didn't want to play a SEC schedule plain and simple. I lost respect for them.

Nebraska—More midwest recruiting without having to compete w/Texas and Oklahoma for players. I'd imagine too that Nebraska fans see the Big-10 as being more winable than the Big-12.

Colorado—Probably see themselves as more a Pacific Coast team than a Southwestern one. Wouldn't surprise me if they felt they could be more competitive in the Punk-10, especially now that USC will be swirling round the toilet bowl for a couple years.
