where did you read this? my guess would be A&M and UGA or Tennessee

i say those teams with the assumption that Auburn would move to the east and have Bama and their permanent.

Wishful thinking so LSU doesn't have to play them every year!!

I would be a fan of any of Fla/UGA/UT as A&M's rival. South Carolina would be ok and Vandy or Kentucky would be pretty blah. I have been waking up with nightmares of having WVU somehow getting in to the SEC and A&M getting them. Have no desire to go play Mountain Tard every year. Much rather have a traditional SEC school. Georgia would be great because it is an easy flight and still driveable, same with Tennessee or Florida though less so.

A big part of the reason I wanted A&M out of the Big 12 was lame road trips to crapholes like the Big 12 North schools (esp sans Nebraska) have, much less Tech or Baylor.

I'm not sure how much of an impact this would have on it but Machen and Loftin (both school presidents) have a very good relationship which was clear during the ceremony last Monday.

I haven't seen too much of this, but I can't see it happening either. The only way that LSU loses UF as a permanent opponent is if permanent opponents are done away with. The presidents of UF and A&M have a friendship, but that's about it. It makes more sense for A&M to pick up UGA or UT if Mizzou joins and Auburn moves east, or a 14th team that joins the east.

If it's about getting to Atlanta, a LSU/A&M trade isn't all bad for the Gators.

We'll take whomever the F the SEC decides we should play. That is all.

But I would like a yearly game with FU....er...I mean UF...

Best fight song in the SEC, IMHO.

Assuming Mizzou joins, Move aub to the east. What brings tv money is marquee matchups. You lose ala-tenn and lsu-aub, but you have tamu-tenn (another UT for the Aggies to play) as well as ala-aub, lsu-uf, lsu-ala, etc. Lsu-aub rarely played anyway before divisions and aub was always an Eastern team historically. Plus this as balanced as you get considering all time win %.

West win% East win%
Miz 54 -> uk 50
Ark 59 -> usc 50
Tam 60 -> tenn 69
Lsu 64 -> uf 63
Miss 56 -> vu 50
Msu 48 -> uga 64
Ala 71-> aub 63
58.9% 58.4%
