So Utah is leaving the MWC to go to the Pac-10.

Big XII-II has a contract that TTU won't sign and OSU is regretting that they did.

Does TTU have the options and the balls to go to the MWC or Pac-10 alone?
Do they have the offers too?

If they do, this gives Texas and A&M the bad guy they wanted and they can jump ship as well...

All this is speculation, don't have any links other than this -> LINK
It just states that Tech isn't signing.
The OSU boards though say that they are siding with TTU.

Also, Dodds says that "conference tie-in rules in any new contract can be broken because they never stopped anyone before."

That was during an interview with ESPN Austin.

TTU must not like what they are hearing.
UT can go indy once their network is up and running...

"Beebe says they have no new tv deal in place at this point. All reports to the contrary are inaccurate to this point."

TTU and OSU need to force Texas's hand by threatening to bolt to a BCS-worthy MWC.

What leverage would UT have in this scenario? Replacing those two with UTEP and Tulsa or some such devalues their conference-saving TV deal.

Just saying, the report is going mainstream. Before, it was just the Tech site. now, a "respectable" source is picking up on the story. It has legs.

ETA - the link.

Agreed, multiple sources are now stating there is no TV deal and no one knows where this "money" is coming from.

Tech appears to have options and OSU is certainly intrigued.

And so it begins...
again...

ESPN really hasn't said anything...and when they do say it, it comes so late that it is no longer valid.
By the time they said, "Big XII-II survives"
Tech was on the verge of destroying it again

There is no way espn will give the big12-2 the same cash as before...if they do they are idiots...

Texas Tech must really resent suddenly being the number three school in Texas - they thought they were second fiddle and A&M was third!

Seems like equal revenue sharing in the Big 12 may be the only way to settle this down, and if that happens, would a prima donna UT jump to the Pac 10 then? Crazy times, man... crazy times.

Yeah, and did you see the more realistic projections? 13.5 mill to each team IF THEY DIVIDED IT EQUALLY. Talk about over estimating the TV deal...

Seems like whether or not TTU has an offer from another conference on the table, they are playing this beautifully. The Big XII needs them.

The more this builds up steam, the more likely Texas will cave in to their demands

The last holdout always has the most leverage.

Very true, look at A&M
They got their $20 million (well...if the money exists)
And they got equal revenue with UT (minus funds from Longhorn Sports Network)

Texas Tech could unleash hell on this conference. They seem like a fair fit for the Pac10 actually.. in place of Utah.

Can't A&M start their own network also? They have a huge fanbase and will have fewer games than Texas that are picked up by ESPN. They don't have as big of a following as Texas, but they could show a lot more games.
