I do not see what Clemson has to offer the SEC. Unlike Texas A&M, It has no greater TV audience than exist now and does not even have a winning tradition over the past 20 years. Its game day traditions are no better than what exist at 11 of the 12 SEc schools. Clemson's academics is in the upper half of SEC teams but is far from the level of Vandy whose membership we certainily embrace. I am living in Greenville and am a graduate and fan of LSU. I believe that Clemson should remain where they are and strive to gain back respectability in the ACC. I enjoy the Clemson fanbase and cheer for them in their conference.

I'm not seeing the draw with Clemson either. Especially if this all about TV markets.

agreed. I like the sound of a LSU/FSU game.

I'd prefer FSU as well, but I'd rather Clemson than Missouri. I could actually see a Clemson-LSU rivalry becoming fairly interesting.

Yeah two of the SEC's 3 schools named "the Tigers" can face off in our identically-named stadiums and play our identical fight songs.

Woohoo.

Clemson brings nothing more to the conference.

end of discussion, no need for them

I agree, but if A&M is invited, they're going to invite someone else. What if FSU says no? Who would you invite then?

They aren't leaving the ACC without UVA.

Next?

they used to say the same thing about Texas A&M leaving behind Texas, but i'll play. If no FSU or Virginia Tech.

Then Oklahoma

if not them, then Miami or West Virginia (toss-up) but anyway by then, the quality is dropping

That was before Texas decided to get their own TV network, which, IMO, defeats the purpose of a conference.

I'd be up for them. I don't know why they aren't being thrown out there right now. If it's because they're looking for an East team, they're doing it wrong. They could move Auburn to the East and add A&M and OU to the West. Hopefully the SEC officials are keeping OU in mind.

I don't think this is a toss-up at all. Miami is way better than WVA, IMO. WVA is way worse than Clemson to me.

I thought so too at first, but I figured it was a toss up because Miami doesn't have an on campus stadium and because they seem pretty far away geographically. Otherwise they're great academically and athletically.

LSU fans could take over South Beach if they ever got to make regular road trips there. That would be some fun. They are great academically and athletically.

I would like to see Clemson in the SEC.

I live in SC and I love it when opposing schools come to SC to play. If Clemson was in the SEC it would double the amount of opportunities to see SEC football live in the state of SC.

For me...Florida at Clemson at 12:30 then Georgia at USC at 8pm would make one heck of a day of football in this state. it was hypothethcial but fun to think about nonetheless
