A lower tier division that's champ would get a spot in the big dance, assuming a playoff eventually happens, would be OK. It will be Boise State every year but they are in the mix right now anyways.

You really think Reneau and Oakes did all they could do to get in CUSA years back? Dan doesn't care about athletics. It's only until a few big donors (Davison) and a couple of others saw that things needed to change - upgrading facilities and thinking outside the box - for LA Tech to get moving in the right direction. I would love for Tech to get in CUSA because they have more in common with many of those schools than the WAC or the Belt. It may take a while for them to become more 'attractive' to CUSA. I'm afraid that if UH and SMU head east, if CUSA exapnds Tech won't get that invite. UNT stands a better chance to get invited by location alone. I'm not saying UNT is better than Tech at all - it's about the benjamins and potential TV sets.

Well there's a lot of truth to that......when there was the CUSA opening and UTEP was chosen over Tech, it was simply due to the EL Paso market & the BOWL location....that's it, unfortunately for Tech. OAKs is gone but Reneau has done a commendable job getting Tech to Tier One status & that speaks volumes......hey wait a minute!!!! You know your Tech To Well......are you a closet Tech Alum who gives money to LSU now? UNT getting picked over Tech would be a true atrocity!!! Even with brand new stadium they average well under 10,000 a game

By including more teams into larger groups that have conference championship games, college football is moving closer and closer to a true playoff system.

Although no details of how the divisions would be worked out, the prevailing wisdom suggests that the four divisions play a round robin schedule of 7 games to determine a champion and then have the four division winners meet to determine a conference champion which would get the automatic BCS spot currently held by the Big East.

A conference tournament? Will the NCAA allow that?
