Look you can throw all the numbers you want out there.
quote:I did. One group has a winning record against another group, mostly on the 2nd group's home field. That group, therefore, is probably better.
Your argument would hold water if you were speaking within a conference or comparing wins against each other.

The only reason he keeps going back to head to head is because thats the only leg he has to stand on. He wont acknowledge if you put these teams in a major conference they would get rocked and he knows it.
I am still waiting for you take some of these so called "superior" teams and stack them up against the schedule I outlined on page 2. Take a handful of your new teams and give me a breakdown of wins and losses. See what you come up with?

They've played straight up 11 times, and most of them have been on Big 12 fields. The Little 12 has won the majority of the games.
quote:No, see what YOU come up with. I've made my argument--now it's your turn to make yours. Go ahead--you're good at math.

Man this is like arguing with a 5 year old.
Insults and foul language....kind of acting like a 5 year old as well when he cant get everyone to agree with him and throws a tantrum.
I want you to break down the schedule because I think you would be surprised when you actually look at the schedule game by game and then realized that those teams would struggle in a major conference.
Rice, SMU, UCF, UAB, Memphis, Marshall, Tulane....good grief with 6 automatic wins against these cream puffs how could someone NOT win 8 or 9 games a season?

Cabby, here's everything you've put in this thread so far:
quote:
That is one shitty conference! No way they keep their automatic bid for long!
quote:
You are high! There is not a team listed above that could consistently compete year end and year out in the SEC! It's easy to win games against shitty teams in a shitty conference! So now you GTFO, PIIHisB and
quote:
Look you can throw all the numbers you want out there. You are comparing apples to oranges and the only way you can compare wins is if the teams being compared play the same teams. Your argument would hold water if you were speaking within a conference or comparing wins against each other. If you look at just straight numbers then a Boise State 13-0 is equal to Bama 13-0? It may be my opinion but I feel that a 13-0 Bama had a much harder road and is 10 times more impressive, and I would say that anyone who knows and watches College football would agree with me! So take you calculator and your stats and have fun while the big boys play football.

I would rather you be from New York, at least it would explain your lack of understanding of what we are trying to explain to you!

Your a frickin idiot if you cant grasp that teams like Boise state and TCU would never go undefeated in a real conference.

Wouldn't they lose their conference status with the NCAA if they have less than 6 "long time" members?
Hmm. Interesting question. Do you have a link to a rule of which I'm unaware?
I've just heard it quoted. I haven't bothered looking up the actual bylaw.

xiv, how can you compare teams with numbers when they don't play the same teams? Is this hard for you to understand?
Big 12 East - SEC East
Baylor - UF
Houston - UT
Iowa State - USCe
Missouri - UK
TCU - UGA
Tulsa - Vandy
Big 12 West - SEC West
Air Force - Bama
Boise State - LSU
Brigham Young - Auburn
Kansas - Arkansas
Kansas State - Ole Miss
Utah - Miss St
I just listed the SEC teams next to the teams in your OP and does not represent where they rank in my opinion. Now look at the teams and tell me that it is even remotely comparable?
If you believe a undefeated Big 12 team is better than or equal to a undefeated SEC team as listed above better than I believe this thread is dead!

Show me some numbers--I'm sure you can find a LOT of evidence to back up your "theories."

But...my proposed Big 12 is better than the current Big 12 on the football field. I've provided beaucoup numbers to support my opinion. Your turn.

So you think if you replace
TCU, BYU, Utah, Houston, Air Force, Boise State and Tulsa for Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Texas Tech and Colorado and this makes the New Big 12 even comparable then I can't argue with you because you have zero knowledge of college football!
Oh, and before you get you stat book out comparing records of the above schools just remember TCU beating BYU, Utah, Houston, Air Force, Boise St and Tulsa is not equal to UT beating Oklahoma, A&M, Okla St, Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Colorado!

I know you love the RPI, but you can't go purely on win pct. Can you share your method for getting those values?
