Alabama, which resides in the SEC minority of wanting No. 14 from the East Coast, would support Missouri if it joined the SEC East, not the West, multiple sources said. According to the sources, Alabama has two objectives: Keep its annual cross-division rivalry game against Tennessee, and not watch Auburn move to the East and possibly grow its recruiting presence in talent-rich Florida and Georgia.

quote:

there is a fairly significant gap in football pedigree between divisions depending on whether Missouri or Auburn plays in the East, assuming Texas A&M goes to the West. Texas A&M's all-time winning percentage would rank seventh in the SEC, well behind the traditional powers and slightly ahead of Arkansas. Missouri would rank 10th, ahead of only Kentucky, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. If Missouri plays in the East, the West would have six of the SEC's top nine winning-percentage leaders. The West would be decidedly better than the East in all-time winning percentage (.605 to .573), bowl winning percentage (.530 to .500) and SEC titles (46 to 35).

I know that link you presented is a recent story. But those quotes are Germans as hell. That has been stated on here a few times.

No, they want their games with Auburn and Tennessee but don't want to do the logical thing and move Vandy west with Au & UA to the east.

So you as an LSU fan wants to move Bama and auburn to the east and add Vandy and Mizzou to the west.

Sounds like LSU fans are the ones scared.

? an LSU fan is scared because he's trying to help Bama find a way to keep its apparently sacred UT game?

LSU has had to sacrifice our sacred tradition of night games this year all in the name of progress for the SEC. Maybe Bama needs to suck it up and take one for the team.

Yeah, no shite. The SEC needs to do what's best for the SEC first... and THEN sort out the rest.

Here we have the tail (Alabama) wagging the dog (the SEC).

Alabama needs to get over it's "me first" attitude. It makes them seem a lot like Texas, who has a "first among equals" attitude in the Big XII.

You think LSU likes going to Atlanta for the SEC championship game all the time, or to Hoover for the SEC baseball tournament every year, or that we were given Florida (remember where Florida was in the 90s) as our permanent opponent from the East? Or, like the earlier poster said... giving up our night games?

LSU has always been easy to work with when it comes to the SEC office, though we rightfully have had many good reasons to complain over the years. Bama whines at the drop of a hat. This is why no one likes you, Alabama. Not becuase you're winners. We respect winners. It's because you bitch nonstop about every little thing.

Was just giving him a hard time because he said Bama was scared, while his proposal would make the SECW incredibly weak in comparison to the east.

LSU had no choice in giving up night games. Bama has a choice to vote for or against and also influence others to vote with them.

Bama will never willfully give up the UT and au game nor should they.

This. The SEC will cater to Bama before another team.

I hope they don't. Bama should take care of Bama first SEC second. Nothing wrong with fighting for what you want or believe in, not rollover to what others want.

If I'm not mistaken there was three other schools that voted no on Mizzou, maybe that's changed I haven't been keeping up.

So does the majority of the Rant... Refs, ESPN, CBS, BRPD, elves, .99 stores, WVU, GG, random Arkansas fan.... They all hate and conspire against LSU.

We've only got 1 vote. Nothing wrong with UA trying to save something important to the school/program. I don't see anyone bitching at Tennessee or the other 2 schools that must be voting with us.

Or maybe LSU is scared to play Bama and Auburn and wants to trade us for Vandy, Mizzou and aTm? Do you seriously want to be in a division where Arkansas is the toughest game of the year?

This. Thanks Memphis. Any LSU fan complaining that Bama whines constantly needs to check their own fan base.

Just pointing out that fan base does not equal institution. A lot of people seem to be confusing the two.

If Mizzou comes into the SEC, they go to the East until and if any additional teams are added in the future.

If WVU joins the issue takes care of itself.
