Simple solution - move both Bama and Auburn to the east and Vandy to the west.
Geographically speaking, this would be a true split and could keep all rivalries in tact. But not gonna happen because of the unbalanced divisions. But then Vandy might complain because it wouldn't play Tennessee every year.

Why would you not guess that it's at least one of the other Tigers? I don't see any reason why USC or UF would have an issue.
Because the articles said that AUBURN voted for it... So I guess it could be LSU, but not sure why. My guess is still USCe and Florida and they do not want Auburn in that division, makes the East too difficult.

damn right the rest of the big 6 in the east and LSU in the west

To be clear - this is the Bama & AU position. I didnt say it was mine. I would be fine adding Mizzou. I eould be fine with AU going East, though it would suck for winner of Iron Bowl to have to beat that same team again for SEC championship.
I wouldnt mind SEC going to North/South divisions. There are geographic solutions that work.

Adding anyone from the West, sans the 'sip schools would make the East stronger. I don't think UF would have an issue because our two schools once had a bit of a rivalry. Auburn moving to the East would let it start back up.

The only way this could happen is if you bring in a team like aTm to the West (which will happen, of course) and the other new team to the West would have to be a traditional power, such as Oklahoma, Texas (this will never happen), or... that's about the only schools I could think of that could fill the slot. It's just not going to happen.

We would be in Atlanta every year

In that scenario, based on geography, I think too much power would be in the South division. Wouldn't the last 5 BCS champions all reside in that division?

I get the historical rivalry shite. I really do. But Bama is going to have to give a little bit in this shite. For fricks sake, they have gotten it easy the last 7 years with Tennessee as their cross-divisional rivalry anyway.

And nothing precludes the schools from scheduling it as an OOC game in those seasons when it wouldn't be a conference matchup.

Bama and UT need to let it go. If they want to play that badly then schedule a game and play it like it is OOC. The years that they rotate onto each others schedule then the games count and they can play another OOC game.

UF is down, but they aren't afraid of anyone coming to their division. Don't kid yourself. I am fairly confident that Tennessee is one of the other schools against Mizzou. As for the final school voting against them right now, I think it is one of the following:
1) Arkansas (geographic recruiting advantage reasons)
2) UGA (for reasons you assumed UF was against it)

Auburn wants to move to the east as a guaranteed trip to Atlanta every year. God knows Florida and SC can't beat them. Tennessee and Georgia may as well be Vanderbilt or KY now.
So who can blame them?

Why would the mighty SEC want a school that prefers a different conference(Big10)? Think they will not jump ship the moment they get an offer from the Big10.

LSU wants Bama and Auburn to move to the east so they'll have an easy trip to Atlanta every year.
...slackers!

Penalties. Make them steep and no school would think about jumping.

Arkansas wants SEC West expansion. We are 100 percent behind TAMU and Missouri coming into the league. West expansion benefits us and does not hurt us.
