True. But mostly, it will help A&M, and I'm not against that. But UT-Austin can eat one.

Agreed, I think Arky/LSU would hurt ut, OU, and Tech thr most. But trust me you want a footprint in Texas, might not need it anymore. But you want it.

All I know is we are 0-6 vs SEC lately and Texas is 0-5 vs Big XII lately.

A&M has got to get our shite together, though. Southwest Classic, anyone?

I don't know what to think about UT-Austin after last year but I will say this...if they aren't careful, they're gonna find themselves "suckin' hind teat" to Texas A&M, and really soon, IMO.

What the hell is going on with them?

I don't know any Arkansas fans who do want A&M in the SEC. Everybody I talk to is either "hell no" or "idgaf".

Mostly alums that I have spoken too.

There's nothing wrong with the SEC as it is. Reasons for expansion right this minute are not compelling enough, IMO.

The timing of their horrible season was very poor in regards to their TV network. Their attendance (not reported ticket sales, but # of people who actually showed up) was pretty horrible for their late season games last year. It showed how flimsy some of their non alums are, and how few people will watch if they aren't a power house.

I think the biggest and quickest impact we would see from joining the SEC would be kicking their arse on a much more consistent basis. How have UF, SC and UGA fared against their out of conference rivals since the SEC's reign began? I honestly have no idea.

Florida has won 7 of the last 10 vs FSU but it also featured probably the worst 5 year stretch at FSU in 30 years. Florida leads 33-20-2.

South Carolina is 3-7 vs Clemson in the last 10 years but has won the last two. Clemson leads the overall series record 65-39-4.

Georgia is like 9-1 against Georgia Tech the last 10 season but GT sucks so thats understandable. Georgia leads the overall series record 61-39-5.

I'm not sure about the others. Of course, since South Carolina and Arkansas have been in the SEC, both teams have shown a lot of improvement. Here's a good site for looking up that kind of thing:

That's what I'm getting ready to do.

ETA: We're 2-2 against Texas. As long as we have Petrino, the future is gonna be looking good, IMO. We played Texas during his first year but Houston Nutt hadn't recruited well at all during his last year. Had we not had Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis, and Darren McFadden during his last 3 years, we wouldn't have done well at all.

Really? Is a .638 winning % with 4 ties really that dominating with over 100 games being played?

Over the last 20 years it sure has been lopsided but we are about to flip that I assure you.

Aren't yall supposed to be playing them again soon? We need two fanbases chanting S-E-C on their asses in a season

Keeping the in-state kids plus recruiting what we need more than just off of pure talent (which is what clemson seems to do) has really helped. Plus the hire of Dabo was a blessing in disguise for us. It was an emotional hire after they beat us under him in '08.

One of my co-workes is a Clemson grad and was worshiping Dabo basically before he took over and thought once he did actually take over that he would take them back to the promise land with a quickness. Now he just cusses Dabo left and right. It cracks me up all the time.

If y'all do join the SEC, I have very little doubt about this happening. It's a showdown almost every week in the SEC.

Sometime in the near future. I really do like playing the Horns OOC.

Yeah we've dominated them in baseball for a while now, killed them in football over the last 2 years and even won in basketball last season with our shitty team. Over that span we've also won 2 national titles and the SEC-E title and are favored to do so again. For the 1st time in my lifetime Clemson fans are unusually quiet.

WoodlandsAg07, As long as A&M has a really good coach who is hungry to win and doesn't become complacent, and has high quality assistants, you will have a team that reflects it. It's critical for any team, especially in the SEC. We learned the hard way.

Most importantly, we need to find out their record vs tOSU. sec teams aren't supposed to lose to them...

ETA: 0-4
Not SEC material
