Let's forgot about any SEC division realigment assuming SEC goes to 14 teams. How about adding a 9th SEC game to the schedule? It allows all the schools to keep their permanent rivals and allows the rotating two schools on the schedule as currently done. It would help appease some of the OOC criticisms the SEC currently faces, fairly or not. Only real downside I can think of (and it's a big one) to this is losing the home game every other year which wouldn't make a lot teams happy.

This may be a big deal. The quesion is will the SEC bring in enough $ with the new TV deal to cover this loss of a home game and cover the split going from 1/12 to 1/14 (in your scenario)?

Down Side

lost home game revenue - because of fewer openings for ooc games
unequal schedules (50% of sec gets more road games),
more guaranteed losses (bowl eligibility and making NC game)

1/13 to 1/15. The conference takes their share.

i really wouldn't mind getting rid of the permanent OOD opponent and just rotating two. history be damned.

Bama-AU, GA-AU, and Bama-UT. Put those 4 teams in the same division, and the "holy grail" of rivalries is preserved and a true rotation can occur.
