Any thoughts you guys?

He needs to go somewhere that's struggled of late, and is willing to pony up the big bucks. He's just not a "stay in one place" guy.

Michigan might be a possibility, and of course, the looming Penn State. And, I don't think he's completely given up on coaching in the NFL. He still has stroke with the front office in Chicago, and winning another BCS will make other owners forget about his trouble in Miami.

However, USC doesn't seem quite right for him - he'd have to go in and win in 2010. His "process" takes 3 or 4 years.

Saban's failure in the NFL was far more spectacular than Carroll's. He quit like a puss. And, to top it off, Tony Sparano coached them to the AFC division championship in the second season after Saban quit. What an embarassment. Can he live with that?

Saban is IMO one of those people who has to have a mission and be challenged to the nth degree, or else he doesn't have a feeling of value or accomplishment. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go somewhere else, but I think USC is not a challenge for him. They have been strong in recent years. I think for him it's the "doing what no one else can do" that he gets his satisfaction from.

There is one reason I can possibly see him taking a USC position. His wife likes the glitz and glamor..........and T-Town doesn't cut it. But with all the shite he took in jumping jobs.......don't see it happening......I think the real motivation now is to make The Bear look like a chump.......and I really hope I'm wrong on that one.

Has a coach ever won a National Championship at 3 different schools?? I could easily see him going to another school to win one at a third...that is his ego...so, don't get too comfortable Gumps...(already saying they are the USC of the south, after one BCS crystal...)

USC is going to be on probation so long no one will want to coach there.

I think Saban will eventually return to the NFL. His ego will not let him remain a failure at the NFL level.

He will never leave BAMA for another school...why would he? I mean after this week Bama would pay him 10 mil a year and not think twice about it! There is no NCAA coaching job that will give him more in terms of pay and ego boost then Bama!

The only way he leaves is to finish what he started in the NFL. That said if and when it does happen it will not be for several years. I think he wants a few more NC and his legacy at the college level secured before he jumps the gumps ship!

I agree. I could see Jerry Jones enticing Saban with some huge bags of cash to become the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys (we all know Wade won't be there for much longer). He already lead Bama back to the top of the college football world. So how about a return to the NFL to bring so called "America's Team" back to prominence? Sounds like a challenge that Saban would think about taking on. If Wade doesn't get fired this year then maybe next year.
