I would love Les back with a new OC, BUT: It must be in his contract that he doesn’t meddle with the offense.
This would be the ideal situation. Had Les just not been so damn stubborn, and relinquished control of the offense to a good OC, there's a good chance he'd still be the HC at LSU.

He ran up scores when he had good teams. No, he never went for 70 points but he’d win 49-7 whenever he could. He blew out plenty teams. Just the later years his offenses struggled so much.

He’d still be at LSU, and LSU would be a contender and we’d all be happy. Post-2008, he just struggled with passing. It’s unfortunate.

I would shite my pants in sheer joy if we rehired Miles tomorrow, don't even give a damn who the OC would be

Esp since LSU is paying him anyway

That's true. But in the fourth quarter, if he had a big lead, he'd grind the clock with his running game, which was the correct move. I never saw Les Miles gratuitously run up the score in the fourth quarter of blow-out games. I don't consider scoring more points in the third quarter when you already have a 35-point lead "running up the score."

It really is unfortunate. Had Ryan Perrilloux not gotten into so much trouble that Les felt compelled to kick him off the team, 2008 and 2009 would have been much different seasons, imho.
