Is it possible because Woodward has unfortunately gained himself the reputation of paying a lot in the past that he will purposely go with the cheaper choice if it comes down to it. This would be in order to temper his reputation of paying big. He must be at least thinking about this. Who wants to be the guy that has the reputation of just opening up the check book?

Woodward

/thread. Not everyone has dick envy good ole boy complex about money like 10% of the posters on here who think it’s cool to be a brokedick. He’s elite at foreseeing what the market rate will be in 3-4 years and matching that for the best candidate possible, not that any of the mouthbreathers who complain about athletic departments that make $150MM/year paying less than 10% of that for a coach would understand

And does Woodward “overpay”? Jimbo is the 7th highest paid coach in football. You people act like he paid Jimbo $40,000,000 a year. By the end of Jimbo’s contract, he won’t even be in the top 10 or 12 of highest paid coaches, possibly not even the top 15
