With so-called "contacts"...Is it possible everyone is wrong

Since there are so many so-called inside contacts, is it possible that the DC could be someone that has not even been mentioned? Could this be such a well kept secret that no one really knows who the DC is? I am having a hard time believing this because we have some good info from well connected posters. But, you NEVER KNOW!
