Why not promote Billy Gonzales to OC?

Sorry if this topic has been discussed, but I've been preoccupied the last few days.
Didn't Gonzales help Meyer write the BG, Utah and UF playbook?
Anyone know what the players think about him?

Why promote him? He has never been a coordinator, this isn't ULL, he didn't improve WRs or the passing game this year, and he was passed over at UF for a reason.

We don't know who had what input to the UF playbook but it really looks like Mullen was the glue that held that bad boy together. What he's running at MSU looks like UF while he was there and UF looks nothing like when Mullen was there.

Plus, aren't most people wanting to get away from the spread option which is what Gonzales' specialty is...considering he has a specialty.
Also, what about the wide recivers performance this year instills you with so much faith that he should be given a promotion?

like I said yesterday, baby steps. let him run the Big Cat drill for a couple yrs first.
