Why isn’t Chuck Pagano being brought up more

For both NFL and college jobs? He did a decent job with the Colts, was a great defensive Coordinator for the Ravens, and recruited and coached the defensive backs at Miami that helped them win a national championship in 2001.

Maybe concerns that you don't know 100% that if you hire the guy, 6 months later his cancer comes back and he's out an extended time/can't coach? Sounds heartless but I think if I'm an AD I have to be at least considering it when comparing him to other candidates.

His Colts teams had some serious issues that were never addressed (like o-line, which they immediately shored up after he left). Granted, Ryan Grigson was an atrocious GM who never should’ve had the job, but I think a lot of people view the success he had as a product of Andrew Luck.

He is not a good head coach would be one reason I can think of.

Chuck Pagano stunk out loud as a HC. It’s sounds shitty to say but he got an extra 3 years because of his cancer story
