People keep saying it would be due to Kiffin "abandoning his best team ever before a playoff run." Which is not true if Ole Miss forces him to make a decision prior to the playoffs. If he wants to coach them and Ole Miss doesn't, that's a mutual decision with mutual fault.

Ole Miss needs to swallow their pride, realize they're little brother, and let this staff coach as long as possible. Doing so is more likely to cause LSU to move on than Lane.

People don’t use a ton of nuance when deciding who to love and hate

If he walks away from an 11-1 team with a home playoff game looming, people will give him shite. No question.
