Because his teams have improved the longer he stays at a program. Look at his year by year record. His overall record doesn't tell the story.

You do realize Herbert has been out since a 4-1 start right? A 4-1 start after winning 4 games all of last year.
eta - Herbert is their starting QB. They are playing a true freshman scrub in his stead who can't throw 10 yards down field.
