Why I think it won't be Tucker

I don't think MSU will want Tucker to leave MSU for LSU like Saban. MSU will match any salary offer and contract terms. They have revenue from the Big Ten and they play in a big enough stadium and have enough wealthy alumni and boosters to keep Tucker. MSU will not want to be known as the school who twice lost good coaches to LSU.
Plus, I think Tucker will more or less use LSU interest to get a better contract from MSU and will stay at MSU. Mark Dantonio accomplished much (Rose Bowl win, Cotton Bowl win, playoff appearance) and look at how well he was regarded by MSU fans even when he started to have less than stellar seasons. He had some heat but nowhere near what the coach at LSU would get.
Remember Saban left MSU for LSU over a raise and contract extension that was modest and something at the time MSU could have matched no problem. If you look at what Dantonio did at MSU you can win big at MSU and I think if Tucker is offered the same amount of money and contract terms he stays at MSU.

Tucker is going to be offered a raise by MSU regardless of what LSU does.

I don't think it'll be Tucker because he's likely to lose four of his last five games.

I think tuckers agent is already doing that right now by floating his name out there the past week while his client is undefeated

Tucker went 5-7 at Colorado and bailed after 1 year (no loyalty).
He went 2-5 last year (worse than 5-5).
He's currently 7-0 (LSU would be 7-0 against that schedule too). I bet he finishes the season 8-4.
LSU needs to make a splash hire. This guy should not even be in the discussion. We all know the single reason why he is being discussed, and it has nothing to do with merit.

I agree that he hasn't done enough to be in the discussion. But if MSU has a great season the best case scenario is that he gets a raise from MSU and LSU hires a coach who is a better fit for LSU.
