Why don’t more former kickers become special teams coaches?

Seems the issue with special teams coaches is that virtually none of them are former kickers.

So they basically concentrate on the coverage and return game, and leave the kickers alone to work on their skills.

You would think former kickers would commit to learning the other aspects of special teams, like coverage, blocking, returns, etc.

If a former kicker became proficient at the other aspects of the kick game, it seems he would be a very in-demand coach.
