Whoa, wait a minute. Top football program of all time? By who and what standards?Prestige? I don't think so. Winning? Yea right. NC's? Not a chance. Money? Maybe so but unless you're willing to pay a coach $10mil a year money is pretty much a wash. We have yet to see any school pay a coach a number that several other schools, including LSU, wouldn't be willing to match. So money hasn't been an issue for Texas or against Us to this point.
Exactly - it's like this shite just gets repeated so much that people accept it. Texas may have the *potential* to be the best job but to call it the best program of all time is bullshite and to assume "all time' has anything to do with the here and now is pointless. As many have stated previously -their conference is shite, their boosters meddle, they don't have an AD, it is a rebuild, and while the rest of the state has been trending up in recruiting and overall success on the field they have been a shite show.
He may go there and that's fine but to act like it's a forgone conclusion and LSU doesn't stand a chance and won't be considered is laughable to me.

If Strong wins out, I think Texas has to keep him. But, I sure don't expect him to win out.

So if it is a boat race with UT the only way I see we win that race is if Herman wants to go to LSU over anyone else. And if you listen to the smoke out there the rumors are UT is his dream job. I find that a little hard to believe being a Southern California guy, but maybe it is.
I have not seen a single source or interview where he mentioned UT being his dream job either. The point that I was trying to make is the boosters can believe and hope as much as they want, if Herman likes LSU better or doesn't want to deal with UT it won't matter. 100% confidence as a booster means nothing more than 100% confidence in any other fan, nobody knows shite and the people that do aren't saying anything.
