have such an inferiority complex when it comes to Miles going to Michigan. If he goes it will not be because it is a better job. The LSU job is one of the top 10 jobs in college football period. So why sweat it. If he goes it will be personal. Otherwise, he will likely tell them thanks, but no thanks and wish them the best of luck.

i don't get it either. fear of abandonment.

michigan is home for him.

you can't fight home.

if the roles were reversed they'd say it was a no brainer for coach X to come home to Louisiana.

Great point! If he leaves, it will be because of the pull of his heartstrings, not because it is a better job. You can't fault a man for going with that. Miles knows he has one of the best gigs out there. It all comes down to what's in his heart. Is the pull of the opportunity to "go home" greater than the pull of his current situation. When you really think about it, you can't fault the man either way. My selfish side hopes he stays, but I definitely understand if he goes.

You can find some of them here, but I must advise they can be an irrational bunch....

It's all in how you look at it. I never felt Saban aboned us. He took a higher paying job that would be the biggest challenge of his career. Alot of coaches do this. If Miles leave I for one will be happy, not b/c he's done a bad job, but b/c I feel over the last three years We should've been much better than what we've shown on the field. Yes I know 10 + winning seasons, but finishing 3rd, 2nd, and 3rd in the west the last three years is not what I call a good year.

funny how the talking heads have almost unanimously questioned why he would leave such a good gig- LSU- even if it is his alma mater, michigan

immaturity, inferiority complex..?????

It's a job..DAD is not leaving.

People value jobs for MANY different reasons...
affiliation
family members nearby
money
climate
spouse's input
etc, etc, etc,

I can't get mad at a college coach who leaves for either (1) the NFL, or (2) his alma mata.
