I really think some LSU fans under estimate the difficulty of winning a NC in college football

so true. So, are you a little down that we're not getting JDR or SOS? I've always liked Miles, but I had already let me mind wander a little bit.

I'm going with Fulmer.

If Fulmer were as good as Miles he would be holding up the SEC Trophy!

You have to mention Pete Carrol. I don't want to catch hell for this, but both Pete and Les are loved by their players, they can get preaty intense when called apon. They also walked into programs that for recuiting plays only takes a phone call (maybe dinner with the fam.) their records are not to far off neither. I do understand that Pete is preaty involved with the defense, but Miles still has his hands on the offense (ex. I formation, lead with pulling gaurd and fullback). Just my thoughts

Just read all the posts and am amazed at all the positive input re: CLM.

This because of a friend's comments to me on Monday morning after all the glory; the SEC championship, selection to the NCG.
Me- "How "bout them Tigers??"
Him- "great! I just wish Miles was packing for Ann Arbor right now."
Me- " sputtering.....But.."
Him- "I don't give a damn what he did. He is just a dumbass playing with another coach's players and can't manage a game and gambles too much."
Me- " I'll take 33 and 6, winning an SEC West title and a SEC Championship and going to the NCG, all in 3 effen years over anybody out there."
Him- 'sputtering... yeah but... we could have had Spurrier or Tubbeville."

Me- "Miles beat both of those guys this year."
Him- "But... But"

I left truly amazed that CLM has not earned ALL of the respect I feel he deserves. Relating this conservation to several friends, they said they know a lot of people who feel this way.
Question- What will it take for Miles to finally get some of these fools respect?

To answer the original question of the thread. Coach Les Miles is in a class of his own.
