while your scenario (guess theory)may be the MOST LIKELY...
Take it from someone likely much younger. That's retarded.

as I said, your scenario is the most likely,
but never rule out anything
some of you act as if you have been seating in the meetings and are privilege in hearing all that goes on, when you are really only guessing as well....your views are absolute !
The only thing you demonstrate with your position is that you either do not have the intelligence, education or tolerance to entertain any other ideas or concept but your own.
If it is not EXACTLY as you envisioned it (guessed),
IT CAN NOT EXIST or be allowed to exist,
"so we must attack".
so..go argue with yourself and pray that you are going to be right so you can then say
"I Told You So",
as if that were to impress anyone but yourself.

quote:Or maybe Miles will use this win as an excuse to ride into the stadium naked on horseback for the home opener next season? Granted its more likely that he will be fully clothed and run out like he usually does but to rule out the naked on horseback possibility would be ignorant and short sighted.
as I said, your scenario is the most likely,

Or maybe some things are so unlikely that they don't even bear mentioning?

I don't think the announcement is that big of a deal. I would think all the people who need to know the status of the coaches are updated with what is going on i.e. recruits and current players.

sure don't want to pop anyones bubble, but i said this before on one of these pages. fwiw, do not believe that Chavis is a sure thing until it is done deal. rumors are just that and one circulated out of UT that his ties to them have a huge clause that may cause this to not happen!!! if it does, LSU will have to pay dearly.... and if i am wrong, i accept that, just passing on what i heard from a fairly reputable source.

Latest from Dandy Don.
In other LSU football news, I was told Friday that Les Miles will hold a press conference early new week to introduce his new defensive coordinator, John Chavis, and the other new coaches on the defensive side of the ball. I also learned late Friday night from very reliable sources that LSU offensive left tackle Ciron Black and tight end Richard Dickson have decided to return to LSU for their senior seasons.
FWIW.......

"Yeah, hey Chavis, you're fired. Oh by the way, even though you are fired, you still have a buyout a team has to pay to hire you. Even though you no longer work for us."
That sounds like it is logical.

Yes. This isn't unusual.
Agreed.

That's one way to put it. Another way to put it is that he was fired. Yet another way to put it is that he was fired by Lane Kiffin. And yet another way to put it is that he was fired by Lane Kiffin so that Kiffin could hire his father Monte.
If I were Chavis I'd sue. The only thing is - Chavis has been around so long, and probably doesn't have the snake as his agent - there might be a clause in his contract that he could be asked to take another position on the staff (e.g. Linebackers) at the same salary. If that was the option offered (and I'm just speculating, I have no idea what happened, other than I believe he was straight up 'not retained') then he might have some contractual problems.
However, I think that's highly unlikely. At worst I suspect that they wish him well, and it's a wash. It's more likely that, if he had years remaining on his contract that Tennessee has to pay him something.

Any article talking about it has said that Tennessee has to pay him his 340,000 unless his new salary surpasses that, which the $500,000 does. So we are actually saving them money, guess that's why they can pay Orgeron way too much.
