When Nick left, it wasn't bad. Assuming Les leaves, it won't be bad.

Grow a pair, people. LSU will be fine next year, regardless of who is coaching.

Saban was way worse. We had scraps to choose from for a HC.

Miles- everyone knew Michigan was a strong possibility, and even he was pissed with Carr's timing. Although I'm not happy if in fact he's already accepted and the reports this morning are true.

Nick's leaving didn't cost us a shot at the NC.

The distractions around Les Miles and the Michigan job have done just that: cost us a shot at the NC.

How could anyone say that the way Nick left was worse?

LSU fans need to quit telling themselves this excuse. How does Les control Carr's screwing of him by the announcement he made to retire? Les didn't tell him to do it that week. And everyone knew they'd call on Les when Carr left that job.

Saban had a great thing and walked New Year's Eve, the night before the bowl game, and after many coaching changes had already taken place. He left LSU hugging a toilet like a New Year's hangover.

I think this way is much better...the earlier the change is announced, the broader your choices of replacement coaches.....

the new staff being in place even a week or two earlier helps a ton in recruiting.....

as for my personal feelings....I think nick tried to BS the public a little too long and it gave him a black eye....I have no problem with a coach leaving to either go to the NFL or to go back home....

Saban was much worse - his PR was terrible, too public. Clearly he was just warming up for spring 07...

The timing is tough for us this year, but I really don't put it on Miles. It was Carr's announcement that started this all. Miles and the LSU folks have been trying to manage this behind closed doors, where it should be handled. The press and the fans insist on dragging it out into the open. Very different from Saban, who just dove right into the spot light.

If Saban's leaving ruined your Christmas you really need to reorder your priorities in life.

Neither of these guys are doing anything wrong. You'd do the same thing. No matter how they handle it, the petty will always whine. You folks sound like a bunch of heartbroken 16 year-old girls who still call their ex-boyfriends and hang up.

agree completely....fans are acting like these guys were our best friends....they were not...they are hired to do a job and they are among the elite in the country at performing that job....
