What is it that we don't know.....

They haven't had a coaching search since Bo Schembechler. They promoted from within both times since Bo. They thought they could low ball Miles and he would come. Not to mention Carr never wanted Miles from the start.
They remind me of LSU when we hired Dinardo.
It started the same way when we hired Saban.
Then we hired Miles because Saban waited until other high profile jobs started getting filled.
Michigan better up the ante to at least 2.5 to 3 million if they want a proven head coach. Otherwise go find an assistant or hope you luck into a Pete Carroll hire.

Behind the scenes stuff.....supposedly Lloyd Carr doesn't like Miles and Carr seems to have influence over Martin. Plus, a guy named David Brandon, who is an ex-regent, doesn't like Miles either and there is an anti-Miles camp and a Pro-Miles faction that is getting loud and will probably riot shortly.

Am I wrong in thinking Les had to keep Jimbo? Also, I seem to remember there was a lot of hollering and screaming about some Bill guy that was his DC at Oklahoma St and that's why he got Pellini.

Not trying to stir the pot, just trying to figure out what is and isn't going on.

BigMC, I didn't think you directed your comments at Miles only.

Guess I am curious if this is something the bigger schools can do and get away with (keeping assistants) or just isolated instances.

To be honest, I really believe Michigan is going to make a run at Miles (again?) and, for some reason, I believe he is going to take it.

I've met and spoken with him and he seems to be really personable and a down to earth guy - as opposed to his predecessor - and I would hate to see him go. Hope this is much ado about nothing.
