You're clearly implying this is Sark, then.

It’s taking too long for it to be SE.

I agree with this conjecture, unless the powers that be want to create an illusion of interviewing/vetting other candidates. If the latter is the case then our program is fricked beyond all belief as many here would lead you to believe.

Best believe he’s gonna get the best he could possibly get for this year. Which I don’t understand why he didn’t do it last year.

I think the way it went down last year was:

-O wanted Kiffin, but Kiffin got a head coaching job so on to plan b
-Plan b didn't exist
...

-The only offensive coordinator in 2016 that was a finalist for the Broyles award was Matt Canada (making him the defacto best OC in the country).
-Then without a thorough interviewing process, O hired him. Canada obviously said yes because we threw $1.5MM at him and we have a lot of talent and O 'gave him autonomy'

Here we are now:

shite hit the fan against Troy and now O is gun shy about hiring someone out of his network or is at least recommended to him (I hate this but it is what it is).
If we haven't announced a hire yet, it is likely close to what you said... a guy who is still coaching. OR they are at least waiting to interview a guy who is still coaching. Off the top of my head, guys that fall into that category are Sark and Chaney. I would be happy with either of those.

If it happens to be Ensminger alone, I wouldn't be happy but it is not the end of the world. SE did a lot of great things in 2016. As most fans will agree, I worry about the 2016 Alabama game (Florida game was different as we piled up 420+ offensive yards) and of course that is what worries everyone around here -- production against great defenses.
Also hiring SE would defeat the whole "we will have the best coordinators" thing for reasons that I obviously don't need to explain.

TL;DR -- We may be fricked but there is still hope and I'll reserve judgement until a hire is announced.
