LSU is the better job right now, but moving forward USC is the best job in the country because of NIL. Not even players at Alabama will have the NIL opportunities of the kids playing for a blue blood program in Los Angeles.

Nobody in L.A. cares about college sports.

I think comparing the jobs is somewhat missing the point and is looking at this in a very old school fashion, that these coaches are "ultra competitive" or some nonsense.
If Riley did it for the reasons I think he did, he's smart.
OU was not going to handle going from 1/2 losses to 3-5 losses well. I think OU will still be a good team, but the expectations to be a 1 loss team from that move would be ridiculous. This would mean a hot seat for him in short order.
Next, he gets to live in California, not small town Norman or BR (shudder). Sorry, but everything is better there from schools to infrastructure to whatever else you're possibly interested in. Similarly, he gets the NFL lifestyle without the NFL concern of getting canned in one year (See Urban Meyer's hot seat).
So he extended his career potentially by a few seasons AND gets the lifestyle benefits? Win for him personally.

This guy may be a troll. But if we’re being honest most of his troll post are factual. Especially this comment. I mean why would Lincoln come to Baton Rouge? I know the mall of the Louisiana is breathtaking. but when you can goto southern Cali and have an easy ride to the playoffs and not worry about crime?? Seems to be an easy choice to me.

USC was a better job than LSU long ago. LSU has been a better job than USC for about the past 20 years.
However, NIL is going to shift the CFB landscape. The California schools, if they are smart and capitalize on it well, could become monsters. USC and UCLA stand to gain the most from NIL out of possibly any schools in the country.

USC is a better job because when they're rolling they have first dibs on top flight recruits in the entire western region of the country. Whereas, LSU typically gets first dibs on the best recruits in a talent rich state.

Well this just isn’t true. Southern Cali is an objectively better place to live than freaking Baton Rouge. LSU campus is awesome, the city and the area not so much.
LSU does have some built in advantages as well like recruiting and recent history plus lower CoL. USC is no slouch though, so a quality coach can build a program there just like Carroll did. Them winning would draw great recruits again, no question. Not to say Riley will or won’t, but USC is certainly a desirable job for many reasons is my point.

Except for maybe the people that are paying Lincoln Riley a shite ton of money to coach there.

USC isn’t in Compton. Jesus, y’all.

Obviously you don’t know the area in which USC is located. It’s in South Central LA (Compton). Much worse
I see you’ve missed my point so let me make it clearer: Baton Rouge sucks as a place to live long term and is certainly not desirable by an outsider.
A USC coach can and would live in any of the nicer areas of L.A. and have easy access to a shite ton of awesome amenities.
The areas surrounding BR?? Boring. I’m an alum, I’m well aware. The only place out of towners actively seek out is New Orleans. Just the facts bud, and something we’ll have to contend with in a search whether you or anyone else like it or not.

I lived in BR also. I actually lived in the bad parts (I was a cop). But I have friends that live in great parts, because they’re rich (seriously). Most college towns are boring.
Seriously, you don’t have facts. You have opinions
