That's what the Michigan board is saying. He has already turned down Notre Dame in the past. Why would he leave probably one of the top 3 college jobs in the country with a great/supportive athletic department for Michigan? Is there anywhere easier to recruit than Florida (beside maybe USC)? Anybody could recruit at Florida even Zook. Michigan has great tradition, but they have to recruit nationally. Florida really doesn't have to look outside of Florida at all. Florida has so much talent even schools picking up the 2nd tier guys are doing well like South Florida. With Miami stinking it up so bad and Florida State struggling to be dominant that just makes it easier for Florida. Urban Meyer has the easiest recruiting sell job in the country. As we see at LSU many players just want to play close to home if possible. Florida is an easy sell in a talent rich state. Michigan fans really think Michigan is a better job, because of Michigan plays an easier schedule. This is true, but it hasn't helped them at all the last 10 years.

That's the stupidest I've ever heard. Why would anyone leave Florida for Michigan. The only reason Miles is even considering UM is because he's from there. Michigan fans might be worse than Bammers as far as considering themselves self important.

Can't say I would do it, but Urban Meyer is from Cincinnati, coached at OSU, then Bowing Green. He twice contacted UofM to get a coaching gig there, Carr turned him down. He was a big fan of Bo Schembechler growing up and dreamed of coaching Michigan.

Is that enough to get him to consider Mich? Maybe. Michigan will likely look at him, and he has back channels working for him in Ann Arbor. Is that enough? Mich took Bo on Woody's recommendation. Tressel is likely to make that same recommendation for Urban Meyer. Will Mich listen? Bill Martin gets to make the hire, but there are others making the decision, so it will be tough to know how the wind is really blowing probably until the announcement is made.

But Mich won't move quickly, they never do.
