Good point, everyone assumes Mallory. Would Lane be a better choice?

and doesn't that member look cool now for "Correcting" Miles? LSU is playing in the 2007 NC, that member is now reduced to taking pinky jabs at Jacob Hester.

I hope Les relies on his own counsel in this matter.

that's all he's ever done, and he's never made a bad hire...why would he start now?

if Mallory is promoted, it is because Les has faith he can do the job - he was Bo's right hand man on the defense - played defense - has coached defense for years - and is the son of a respected coach

Maybe Rocket can organize a Tenuta march. The LSU football program is not one that should be used as an expirement to see whether or not someone is ready to be the coordinator. I would much rather replace Mallory who gets that opportunity elsewhere than throwing him into the SEC fire. Also, if he gets Pelini's endorsement remember this - When Skip retired, he recommended Smoke; when Saban bolted, he recommended Houston Nutt.

He better be right. Not firing the wrong coordinators was Dinardo's downfall.

Fixed it for ya

I would think Mallory would benefit greatly from coaching under BP and then a year or two under Tenuta.

If Miles mentions his name as a potential hire with Tenuta, combined with his experience under Bo and possibly Tenuta, he would get a shot as a DC at a pretty decent program like a Cincinatti, aTm or Tx Tech or somewhere. At that point, if Tenuta left for a HC position, people would probably accept him as LSU's DC with open arms.

That was SFP.

He asked about the punt team and Miles responded about Buster Davis returning punts.
