doesn't MSU know that you are suposed to wait until they (meaning FLA) finish the year before you announce his hiring??? how dare they!!!
Duh...MSU was, how to say this, without a HC, with a staff and recruiting in limbo. It's just a wee bit different than hiring a coordinator.
Is that clear enough for you? Or did you just want to take a more passive-aggressive run at bitching and moaning because CLM hasn't done his hiring to suit your time schedule ... thereby leaving LSU with coaching voids with the upcoming bowl game, not to mention throwing recruiting into turmoil. Thank goodness our 2009 commits haven't gone as weak and wobbly in the knees as many TD posters/Tiger fans have and are.
Shame on Miles for not appeasing you and other TD posters while he works behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition for 2-3 new incoming defensive coaches, including a new DC (while concurrently removing 2-3 current defensive coaches in as decent and humane way as possible), as opposed to him just pandering to your wishes by doing all the hiring in a mad, panicked rush.

I am freakin amazed they landed Mullen.
Whats so amazing about it? You might want to take another look at his resume. Its not like its his offense that florida is running.....
They would have been better off getting someone with head coaching experience rather it be froma a small div 1 school or going down and picking up a successful div 2 coach. Instead they hired a guy who has 0 head coaching experience.

bob stoops was a bad hire.

Yet schools like Univ of Texas and Florida State, both pretty new at this college football business, pay their coordinators tons of money to stay there with the hopes that they will eventually move into the head coaching role. No HC experience but yet turning over the keys to the kingdom.
We are MSU. We have won 3 or 4 games per year for way too long. Roll the dice, take some gambles on an unknown quantity but comes from good stock. Hell yea, I am excited!

if you don't see the positives of this hire then you are a fool. MSU gets a young energetic coach that will excite the fanbase and excite recruits. Hell if he can keep this recruiting class in tact and possibly add the two recievers that are teamates of Tyler Russel (a MSU recruit at QB) then he could be well on his way to building a solid program.

They would have been better off to have hired a proven coach who can handle problems. It could turn out well, but it will take a few years. Just have to wait and see. I would not be excited should I be a State fan.

Been a state fan for 15 years and i can honestly say that this is the first time i have been excited about our coach.
BTW are you on sixpackspeak?

No sixpack. Just here and SECTalk.net but it's a dying board; just haven't pulled the plug yet.

How long has Mullen been with Meyer?

Actually, they have been together since '99. They were both on the staff together at Notre Dame.

Nice pickup for MSU but I wonder why Mullen would choose a school where you gotta bust your balls to win 8 games a year. I guess if he pulls 6-8 wins over the next two years he moves on to a bigger school.
