I think with the way coaches are moving around and their salaries continuing to increase, this kind of buyout should start to catch on. I have to think TT's huge buyout was a big part of aTm not going after him. With athletic departments dealing with as much money as they are, buyouts need to be large to be meaningful.
I also think it could have a positive effect on recruiting, with at least an illusion of coaching stability.
I know the tide has turned on LM this week, but for those of you who still want him to stay, wouldn't a 6-8 million dollar buyout make you feel a little better?

I think if Les stays no buyout is necessary (it makes me feel better to have one, though). I don't see him going anywhere but Michigan. If they hire somebody we have Les for life. For those of you who cannot divide 32 by 38, keeping Les is a very good thing.

according to a Texas newspaper guy I heard on the radio today, A&M was told they had to put up the $6M up front just to negotiate with Tubby...which I find very hard to believe unless Sexton just wanted them to go away.
