Why is everybody saying that tubby will in fact leave? I can't see why he would be on the hot seat, so why would he want to leave?

I think Muschamp will get the HC job if Miles leaves.

It became just business for TT after jetgate. He has no loyalty to Auburn and he doesn't trust any of the people that he woeks for and he shouldn't. They stabbed him in the back for sure and if he starts losing to BAMA they will do it to him again. If you think about it he has only had two really good teams the entire time he has been there. He has beat us 6 years in a row is the only reason he has a job there now. We have sucked since 99 so what has he really done. Although I will admit that in 2004 I think Auburn had the best team in the country and I think they got screwed. That was pretty sad in my opinion.

since that fiasco though he HAS stepped it up. Last four years he has been pretty good. and his record against top teams or in big games is good as well.

I dunno, Scoop...once bitten, twice shy. The Mike Archer hire was 20 years ago, and LSU recovered from this only recently. There are so many aspects to managing a big "program" that I think LSU will really try to get someone with HC experience.

That said, if we go for someone with no HC experience, we could do a lot worse than Muschamp. He knows LSU, has college and pro experience, and has gotten more SEC experience under Tubby.

I'd still rather go the first route.

If I were Tubby, I'd get a verbal agreement about a new contract, but no way do I sign that thing until I see what else is available.
