I think the only stats that matter are 22-3 and 35-17. Don't be so narrow minded to compare the 2 because of a similar stepping stone job.
And at no point during Sumlin's tenure did he take UH to a major bowl games. Nor was he 3-0 vs top 10 teams (and real major programs).

This is truly stupid.
The only thing they have in common is coaching at Houston
Sumlin was .673%
Herman is .880%?
Btw Art Briles also had success at Houston and was a tremendous HC aside from the other issues.

*shrug* Sumlin took TAMU from being boatraced in the B12 to being competitive in the SEC. No one thought TAMU would be as good as they've been coming into the conference back when the move was made. TAMU isn't on the level as LSU as a football program, he's done a pretty damn good job there and if I'm being honest if Sumlin was available I wouldn't mind having him here if Jimbo or Herman fell through

Tom Herman is unproven. Houston coach for a year and a half and now he's ready for the SEC ?

Wtf what more does he have to do
He's beaten top teams consistently with less and gets all the praise for his offensive mind
Even Kiffin consulted with him
LSU needs an x and o's coach to get over the hump. Not another lovable figurehead
He is the Aranda of offense in terms of brilliance but he's proven to be a tremendous overall HC by what he does in big time games. Spare me the losses, even Saban had bad losses in his first gig.
LSU can get by on talent alone and they aren't Houston. They need an x and o coach to get over the hump and start winning big time games again.

Herman has won nearly all his big games at UH: ranked teams in Oklahoma, Florida State, Louisville, Memphis, Temple for the AAC title. Slip ups vs SMU & Navy happened due to massive injuries. When his teams are healthy, he gets them ready to play in big games
