They absolutely knew that Tubberville was or wasn't interested in their job. If Tubberville has a good agent at all (isn't it Sexton?) then Tubberville's name has been in whatever job search he has wanted it to be in for the last month.

These things don't come as a total surprise to the coaches. Tubberville either:

a. knew it was likely that he'd get fired
b. made or refused certain requests to get fired so that he'd still get paid
c. resigned on his own

Tubberville has other issues,... Clemson "interviewed" Dabo OTJ. Mini-cats are thrilled cuz team loves Dabo, and they play for him. Bowden was on thin ice last year, but was given another chance with tons of talent and Davis committing to hanging around. He still could not motivate-especially after Bama thrashing. fyi

Find me one spot where hiring the current asst. because the players liked him and it worked....

and I'll find you 10 spots where it turned out bad.

Right there in Clemson - Danny Ford. They idolize him as their most recent/only NC coach. I am not saying it is the right answer, but the boys responded. Besides, I never liked the Archer pick despite player support,...
