Rising coach that needs to prove himself more.

I am a big fan of Marrone and would love this hire for LSU.

Marrone is a great coach. Played at UT and I wish we would have looked a little harder at him last year.

I would like a defensive coach, but I'm not the one that makes the decisions.

He's an alumni of Syracuse which is why it would be hard to get him out of there.

Former Saints OC. There's the La. connection.

I wouldn't be disappointed, but if he's successful, we're faced w/ Saban redux, i.e., rumors of him heading for the NFL every year.

My bad. He coached at UT. I did think he played here though. I honestly am not sure why.

Either way the guy is a great coach.

Why is this such a bad thing. Good coaches get mentioned for other jobs all the time because nobody wants a bad coach. I'd rather listen to rumors of the NFL taking our coach than have a bad coach that nobody wants.

Look at Miaimi in the 80's Schnellenberger won a National Title, then went to the pros. They hired Jimmy Johnson then Dennis Erickson who did the same thing. Then came Butch Davis who made a great team and went to the Pros. I'm ok with that. (sans the probation) I mean did people complain when we had Saban? Did Stanford complain they had Harbaugh? Did Florida ever complain about Spurrier? Most USC fans didn complain about Pete Carroll. Seriously, look at those names. I want a coach on that level.

I was about to say Syracuse has a shitty bio page for its coach, then realized it's Sexton's site.

I want this guy LINK
